CSEP is seeking motivated research professionals with a passion for research that addresses the deep-rooted challenges facing India. The Research Associate should be trained in their area of expertise, and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. They should be aware of both global and national developments in their area of work.

About CSEP

The Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) conducts independent, in-depth, and policy-relevant research, and provides evidence-based recommendations to the challenges facing India and the world. It draws on the expertise of its researchers, extensive interactions with policy makers as well as convening power to enhance the impact of research. Our researchers work across the domains of Economic Growth and Development including Health, Urbanisation; Energy, Natural Resources, Power, Critical Minerals, Climate change and Sustainability; and Foreign Policy and Security. All our research and policy recommendations are freely available to the public.

CSEP is based in New Delhi and registered as a company limited by shares and not for profit, under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 1956 (now Section 8 of Companies Act, 2013).

Background

  • Masters in Law/Economics/Journalism/Public Policy from a reputed university. Candidates with PhD/enrolled in PhD and in the final stages of their doctoral dissertations will be preferred.
  • A good background and knowledge of the digital economy would be an added advantage
  • Minimum one-two years of relevant work experience
  • Candidate should have a deep interest and awareness of the national and global developments in the digital economy

Required Skills

  • Knowledge of research methods
  • Good verbal communication
  • Good writing skills
  • Expertise required would include both qualitative and quantitative research, experience in handling large datasets, and skills to conduct policy analysis, econometrics and data/statistical analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
