Full Stack Developer

Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a Full Time Consultant for the position of Full Stack Developer. The ideal candidate will have expertise in front-end and back-end development, with a passion for leveraging technology to address environmental challenges. As a Full Stack Developer, you will be responsible for developing user interfaces, managing agroforestry data in the cloud, deploying machine learning models, and supporting various UI-related tasks.

About Us
F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.
F4F was incubated at Nudge Centre for Social Innovation (N/Core), Shakti - The Empathy Project, and the NSRCEL-IIMB. Our work was also featured on DW TV and Scroll's Eco India series as well as DW Hindi. We were recently selected as one of India's top innovators working in the ecosystem restoration and conservation sector by the World Economic Forum.

Responsibilities:
1. Develop intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces for the visualization of agroforestry data, leveraging modern web development technologies and frameworks.
2. Design and implement user interfaces for estimating carbon sequestration using drone orthomosaic imagery, ensuring optimal performance and usability.
3. Deploy machine learning models in the cloud infrastructure, integrating them with user interfaces for seamless interaction and data analysis.
4. Undertake any other UI-related tasks as required by the project, including interface enhancements, user experience improvements, and design optimizations.
5. Manage agroforestry data in the cloud, including data storage, retrieval, and analysis, utilizing cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure.
6. Implement mechanisms for storing drone data in the cloud, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility for analysis and visualization.
7. Any other work related to the development and data management.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
2. 1 - 3 years of experience as a Full Stack Developer or similar role, with a strong portfolio showcasing front-end and back-end development projects.
3. Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js).
4. Experience with back-end development using Node.js, Python, or similar languages, along with frameworks such as Express.js or Flask.
5. Familiarity with cloud platforms and services such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) or Azure, including cloud storage, computing, and database services.
6. Experience with data visualization libraries/tools (e.g., D3.js, Plotly, Tableau) and GIS technologies is a plus.
7. Knowledge of machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, scikit-learn) is desirable.
8. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
